Week 5 spared us from full-on carnage, but the football gods still claimed a few key names. Headliner: Omarion Hampton is headed to injured reserve (IR) and will miss at least four weeks. Beyond Hampton, several impact players below warrant close monitoring as we turn to Week 6. Read on for the full NFL Week 5 injury recap and the fantasy implications you need before setting lineups.

Quarterbacks
Kyler Murray
Injury: Foot injury
Analysis: Kyler missed a few plays with a foot injury but finished out the game. Coach Gannon has stated the Cardinals will "see how the week goes" which indicates it is no more than a mild injury. A foot injury can obviously limit Murray's rushing upside, curbing his overall fantasy output. Murray has not been great for fantasy this year, currently sitting at QB17. If his rushing upside is limited in week 6 a pivot at QB is in play for fantasy managers.

Carson Wentz
Injury: Left shoulder injury
Analysis: Wentz missed a few plays Sunday morning with a left shoulder injury but returned to finish the game. A left shoulder injury that is mild enough to play through won't impact a right-handed passer one bit. Minnesota is on a bye in week 6, and starter JJ McCarthy has a shot to return in week 7.

Mac Jones
Injury: Left knee injury
Analysis: Jones, who came into week 5 with a known left PCL injury, landed hard on his left knee and appeared to be in quite a bit of pain. The fall did not create a mechanism that would further injure the PCL, and he returned to finish out the game strong. It remains to be seen how long starter Brock Purdy will be out, but if Jones needs to start again in week 6, this injury should not limit him.
Running Backs

Saquon Barkley
Injury: Knee Injury
Analysis: Saquon was listed as a DNP on Philadelphia's Monday's estimated practice report ahead of their Thursday night game against his former team. Barkley logged a season low 72% snaps, indicating he may have gotten banged up during the game. Reports suggest he is dealing with general soreness and should be fine for Thursday.
Knee injuries can impact a runner's ability to quickly and confidently change directions, a key part of Barkley's game. When mild, players can play well through injury, so monitoring practice status ahead of Thursday will be valuable. If he can log some practice on Tuesday or Wednesday, he should be able to play well.
Omarion Hampton
Injury: Left ankle injury
Analysis: Hampton was placed on the injured reserve with an ankle injury. Video review is not obvious for this one, and Los Angeles has not revealed exactly what Hampton is dealing with. The good news is Hampton is 22 years old, and healing is extremely efficient. We will look out for more details on what exactly Hampton is dealing with ahead of his return.
Antonio Gibson
Injury: Right ACL Tear
Analysis: Gibson tore his right ACL while returning a kick on Sunday night. While Gibson did take a big hit on the play, the injury actually occurred just before contact. Gibson attempted to cut to the left after taking an enormous stride, leaving his foot well ahead of his body when he made contact. The ground reaction force of his big stride, combined with his attempting to change directions immediately, led to his knee buckling and a valgus moment, causing the ACL to tear.
Gibson will have about 10 months to rehab ahead of week one next season. This time frame is realistic to return and play in week one; however, running backs see a significant drop-off in fantasy production in the first season after an ACL tear.

Jordan Mason
Injury: Undisclosed
Analysis: Mason briefly exited Sunday morning's game with an undisclosed injury, but it was not enough to keep him out, as he was able to finish the game. With Minnesota on a bye in week 6, Mason should be fresh and ready to go in week 7.
Rico Dowdle
Injury: Cramps
Analysis: During Dowdle's breakout game on Sunday, he briefly experienced cramping in his right leg that caused him to miss a few plays. He returned and continued to play well. Look out for updates as the Panthers start practice on Wednesday, but as of now, this is a non-concern.
Wide Receivers
Darius Slayton
Injury: Hamstring injury
Analysis: Slayton injured his hamstring on Sunday, and it remains to be seen if he will miss week 6. Hamstring injuries impact top speed, like when a receiver runs a go route. It takes 30-40 yards to get to top speed, which is why receivers are the most impacted by hamstrings. Receivers average missing 1.9 games and see a 15% decline in fantasy points after a hamstring injury.

Khalif Raymond
Injury: Neck injury
Analysis: Raymond injured his neck on a punt return on Sunday. As of this writing, we do not have updates on what exactly was injured, but neck injuries can vary from a mild strain to a fracture or disc injury that can be season-ending. We will look out for updates.
Tight Ends
Jake Ferguson
Injury: Undisclosed
Analysis: Ferguson missed a few plays with an undisclosed injury but returned to put together a dominant performance on Sunday. This will be one to watch for updates when Dallas starts practice on Wednesday, as often when players play through an injury, they feel the effects in the following days. Check back in for Saturday's week 6 injury preview article.
Brenton Strange
Injury: Hip injury
Analysis: Strange exited Monday night's game and did not return with a hip injury. Expect more details to emerge over the week, but for now, Strange's status for week 6 is in doubt.
Grant Calcaterra
Injury: Oblique injury
Analysis: Calcaterra exited Sunday's game with an oblique injury. Oblique muscles are critical for rotating to make a catch, but also for bracing the core to block. Philadelphia plays on Thursday this week, making it difficult for Calcaterra to be ready.
