Another week, more injuries to key fantasy-relevant players. Justin Herbert has an ankle injury, JK Dobbins is seeking a second opinion on a foot injury, Garrett Wilson aggravated his knee injury, and much, much more. With fantasy playoffs straight ahead, now is the time to lock in and get the roster set to make a run. The week 10 NFL injury recap & fantasy impact article below will guide you through the most recent round of injuries.
Quarterbacks

Justin Herbert
Injury: Ankle injury
Analysis: Herbert injured his ankle Sunday night but was able to finish the game and is not expected to miss any time. Herbert is a tough player and has played through numerous injuries in his career, and it appears an ankle will be his newest injury to power through. Ankle injuries can impact a quarterback's mobility and throwing power and lead to an average 11% decline in fantasy points. Herbert, however, should continue to be a reliable starter.
Geno Smith
Injury: Quad injury
Analysis: Geno left Thursday night's game with a quad contusion (bruise). These are painful and impact the affected muscle's ability to generate force. The quad muscles are critical for sprinting, but fortunately, as soon as the bruising clears out, function returns to normal. Geno's status for week 11 should not be affected.
Jaxson Dart
Injury: Concussion
Analysis: Dart exited Sunday's game with a concussion. Dart had been evaluated for concussions three prior times this season, but this week was the first time that testing was positive. Dart will have to pass through the NFL's concussion protocol, but when he returns,2 his play should not be affected. Dart has been very reliable as a fantasy starter this season.
Running Backs
JK Dobbins
Injury: Foot injury
Analysis: As of this writing, Dobbins is still getting opinions on his foot injury. Dobbins was publicly frustrated that his injury occurred from a hip-drop tackle, and while he was able to finish the game, the severity of his injury is not yet known. There is a very wide spectrum of severity and type of injury that Dobbins is dealing with. The foot is critical for a running back. The foot must be stable to provide a rigid base to push off when cutting, and when injured, the ability to change direction can be a real challenge. We should have some clarity on his injury in the coming days, and we hope it is mild.
TreVeyon Henderson

Injury: Knee injury
Analysis: The Patriots' rookie finally had his breakout game in week 10, but came away from the game with a mild knee injury. Henderson did finish the game after suffering the injury and was estimated as a "limited" participant in Monday's walkthrough. This one is likely mild, but the quick turnaround to Thursday night football will make it tricky for Henderson to get to 100%. Knee injuries often lead to significant swelling and stiffness that often accumulates the day following the injury. As long as Henderson can get the swelling and stiffness under control, he may be able to play, and play well, but fantasy managers need to be glued to his practice reports this week.
Chris Rodriguez
Injury: Shoulder injury
Analysis: Rodriguez found the end zone in week 10 but left the game with a shoulder injury. Running backs average missing less than one game, but see a 19% dip in fantasy points in the first game after a shoulder injury.
Bam Knight
Injury: Ankle injury
Analysis: Knight picked up an ankle injury in week 10. Ankle injuries can impact a runner's ability to quickly change direction and come with high re-injury rates close to 30%. Running backs average missing 1.2 games, but only a 7% dip in fantasy points after injury.
Terell Jennings
Injury: Knee injury
Analysis: Jennings exited Sunday's game with a knee injury but claims that it is just a bruise and that he will be okay. If true, as soon as the bruising subsides, his function should fully return. Getting bruising down by Thursday is possible, but it will be a challenge.
Wide Receivers
Davante Adams
Injury: Back / Oblique Injury

Analysis: Adams grabbed at his back, but reports are suggesting this is an oblique injury. The obliques do extend to the backside, but normally, injury is on the flank or front part of the torso. Either way, an oblique injury can impact a player's ability to twist to make catches and brace for impact, but it usually doesn't hold players out very long. At 32 years old, healing will be slower for Adams compared to younger players, but this is largely not a concern. Adams has been excellent this season.
Chris Olave
Injury: Ankle injury
Analysis: Olave briefly dealt with an ankle injury in week 10 but finished the game. Olave has dealt with numerous ankle injuries this season but has not missed any time. When more severe ankle injuries can impact the ability to get in and out of routes, but when mild have little to no impact on fantasy production. Receivers average missing less than one game and a 10% dip in fantasy points.
Garrett Wilson
Injury: Knee injury
Analysis: Wilson re-injured his knee and is expected to miss another 3-4 weeks. The exact nature of his injury has never been revealed, but fantasy managers will have to find a replacement for the next month.
Rashod Bateman
Injury: High ankle sprain
Analysis: Bateman has a high ankle sprain that is not believed to be serious. High ankle sprains occur when the tibia and fibula bones are pulled apart from one another, stressing the ligaments holding them together. This makes the ankle less stable and difficult to quickly plant to change directions. Receivers average missing 2.8 games, though Bateman's is believed to be mild, so he may miss less time.
Zay Jones
Injury: Achilles tear
Analysis: Jones will miss the rest of the season with an Achilles tear. This is a 10+ month rehab which will put his week one status next season at risk.
DJ Moore

Injury: Shoulder injury
Analysis: Moore briefly left Sunday's game with a shoulder injury but was able to return, and still did not make a catch. Mild shoulder injuries usually are no big deal for a receiver. Receivers average missing less than one game and only a 7% dip in fantasy points.
Darius Slayton
Injury: Hamstring injury
Analysis: Slayton aggravated his hamstring in week 10 but did return to finish the game. This will be something that nags Slayton for much of the season. Hamstring injuries have extremely high recurrence rates, and muscle takes 3-4 weeks to really heal, a time that is not always given to football players. As a deep threat receiver, Slayton will continue to stress his hamstring, which could lead to further injury.
Tight Ends
Orande Gadsden
Injury: Quad Bruise
Analysis: Gadsden has a bruise to his quad and is not expected to miss much time. The quad is critical for sprinting and blocking, and a bruise can impact the muscle's ability to generate force. Gadsden is 22 years old, which will help with the efficiency of his ability to clear out the bruising, and as soon as the bruising subsides, production returns. This is not a major concern for fantasy managers.
Dalton Kincaid
Injury: Hamstring injury
Analysis: Kincaid is week-to-week with a hamstring injury. This timeframe usually equates to a grade II strain with true muscle injury, weakness, and lost range of motion. In a perfect world, this takes around 4 weeks to return to normal, but football players are not usually given the time needed to fully heal. Tight ends average missing 2 games, and see a 10% dip in fantasy points after injury. Re-injury risk will be heightened when he returns.
