Week 11 brings another chaotic injury slate for fantasy football managers, with major names across every position battling injuries that could swing matchups and playoff pushes. From concussions and hamstrings to high-ankle sprains and knee issues, understanding true return-to-play timelines and performance expectations is critical, not just whether a player is “active.” Below is a concise breakdown of the most impactful Week 11 injury situations, what their status likely means moving forward, and which players you may need to pivot from before Sunday.
Quarterbacks

Lamar Jackson
Injury: Knee injury
Analysis: Jackson missed Wednesday's practice with a knee injury, but has been able to participate the rest of the week and will play. A mild knee injury can cause stiffness and soreness, but it often responds quickly to treatments throughout the week and does not limit production. Expect Jackson to be unimpeded by this injury and remain an elite QB1.
Brock Purdy
Injury: Toe injury

Analysis: Purdy will make his return after missing the last six games with a toe injury that originally occurred in week one. A right-handed passer pushes off the right foot and big toe to create throwing power, and when a significant injury to the right big toe is present, the ability to power off the right foot is greatly impacted. No doubt Purdy has been held out the past month and a half due to the inability to properly create throwing power due to his toe. The good news is that six weeks is substantial time to rest and rehab, and restore range of motion and strength to the big toe. I would expect Purdy to look and play near 100% in his return and is a viable low-end QB1.
Jaxson Dart
Injury: Concussion
Analysis: Dart will miss week 11 with a concussion. Dart has received great scrutiny from the media this week for his reckless playing style. It will be interesting to see if his play changes at all when he returns to the field.
CJ Stroud
Injury: Concussion
Analysis: Stroud will miss his second straight game with a concussion, the second of his career. When Stroud is able to pass through the concussion protocol, his production should immediately return to normal.
Geno Smith
Injury: Quad Contusion
Analysis: Geno has been removed from the injury report. A quad contusion is a bruise, but usually not a full-blown muscle injury. When bruising subsides, function returns. This won't impact Geno's production this week, however, he has been bad this season.
Running Backs
Bucky Irving
Injury: Foot / Shoulder injury
Analysis: Irving will continue to be absent on game day this week, but is making strides towards returning. Three limited practices this week provide promise for fantasy managers that Bucky is nearing his return, but also indicate that his injuries are fairly severe. Reports all along have suggested the shoulder subluxation is the biggest concern. In the NFL, the average time missed due to a shoulder subluxation or dislocation is three weeks, and this season, we have watched Xavier Worthy and Tyrone Tracy return within this time frame. With Irving missing over seven weeks, we have reason to speculate that he is having a hard time regaining the stability in his shoulder. While this won't hurt his fantasy production when he returns, it will increase the risk for re-injury when he gets back on the field.
JK Dobbins

Injury: Foot injury
Analysis: Dobbins is dealing with a foot injury and will miss considerable time. Dobbins' frustration is warranted, as the Broncos' reliable runner's immediate future is now in question. With him not being immediately ruled out, he probably does not have a fracture, but a mid-foot sprain is likely. The severity of mid-foot sprains varies; some athletes miss no time at all, while others need surgery.

The mid-foot plays a critical role in the foot's ability to adapt and change shape to absorb forces from the ground, and then to become a rigid lever to push off to run. When injured, the adaptability is limited, making it harder to create force to push off the ground to sprint and change direction, and the pain also limits these abilities. Non-surgical foot injuries average about 2 games missed, with plenty missing more (Kyler Murray, Bucky Irving). It seems that Dobbins is in line to miss several games.
Justice Hill
Injury: Toe injury
Analysis: Hill will miss week 11 with a toe injury. He did get some practice in on Friday, telling us this won't be a severe toe injury and Hill should resume his pass-catching role soon.
Ollie Gordon
Injury: High ankle sprain
Analysis: Gordon, who did manage to play through his high ankle sprain last week to the tune of one carry for negative three yards, is now officially off the injury report. Not missing any time, told us from the start this was a grade I injury with no ankle instability, but obviously, Miami still did not give him a large workload. By now, I would expect any residual pain and swelling to have resolved, and a grade I injury is not typically accompanied by any loss of range of motion or strength, so Gordon's play should be back to normal. His workload, who knows? Don't start him.
Bam Knight
Injury: Ankle injury
Analysis: Knight has logged limited practices all week and carries a questionable tag into week 11. The lack of a full practice tells us he is not at 100%, and while running backs usually can play effectively through an ankle injury, Arizona has been spreading the backfield touches around and feeding the hot hand. I would expect Emari Demercado to see more of the work this week, and Knight is a risky play.
Wide Receivers

Drake London
Injury: Back / Illness
Analysis: An illness, and what appears to be a mild back injury, should not slow down London this week. Mild, acute low back pain is generally not too hard to get under control, and athletes feel and move better when they get warmed up. While it may be uncomfortable at times, I'd expect London to power through this without much issue. London has been an absolute beast this season and remains a high upside WR1.
Davante Adams
Injury: Oblique strain
Analysis: Adams is dealing with an oblique strain that has limited him in practice this week. All reports suggest he will suit up and look to keep his excellent season rolling. The obliques are big time rotational muscles that a receiver needs to have functioning efficiently to twist to make catches, as well as block and brace for impact. The presence of an oblique injury usually does not influence performance, and assuming Adams does play, he remains a great start. Re-injury for a 32-year-old is a risk, but not enough to stop fantasy managers from rolling out their stud receiver as usual.
DJ Moore
Injury: Shoulder Injury
Analysis: Moore is fine after injuring his shoulder last week. A mild shoulder injury is not going to interrupt his speed, route running, or run after the catch, and he would not be playing if he didn't have the ability to lift his arm over his head to make difficult catches. Receivers average just a 7% dip in fantasy points after a shoulder injury, and I see no reason why Moore would be any more impacted. However, he has not been great this season. Start at your own risk, but a potential bad game would not be because of the shoulder.
Calvin Ridley
Injury: Hamstring strain

Analysis: The 30-year-old missed three games due to a hamstring injury and has now logged a limited practice every day this week. The time frame tells us this was a grade II injury where true muscle damage occurs, accompanied by loss of range of motion and strength. Four weeks to rehab should have restored the range of motion and some strength, but depending on how bad the injury was, his strength may still be off. This being his first recorded hamstring injury bodes well for reducing re-injury risk (though risk is very much still present), production is the concern, though. Prior to injure,y Ridley was not playing well, Tennessee stinks out loud, and receivers average a 15% dip in fantasy points in the first game after a hamstring injury. All of these combine to make Ridley stay on the bench this week, even if he plays.
Chris Godwin
Injury: Fibula injury
Analysis: Godwin continues to miss time with a fibula injury. As we've talked about in the past, Godwin's ankle injury from last season is nothing to sneeze at, and often leads to major long-term mechanical impairments. I hope Godwin can return soon, but his injury risk will remain high.
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Injury: Appendectomy
Analysis: Harrison underwent an appendectomy, which is an emergency surgery. He will be fine, and this won't affect his athletic ability, but a period of relative rest is required for full healing. The incision site needs to heal, and the abdominal muscle and fascia that are cut through to get to the appendix also need to heal. Typical timelines recommend at least three weeks before returning to strenuous activity.
Romeo Doubs
Injury: Chest injury
Analysis: Doubs came away from Monday night's game with a mild chest injury but is not listed on the injury report. I often write about how chest/rib injuries can impact some of the major muscles required for rotating and reaching the arms, but a mild injury like Doubs will not be a problem for these muscles. I would not expect the typical 16% dip in fantasy points after a chest injury to apply to Doubs' case.
Rome Odunze
Injury: Ankle injury
Analysis: Rome is good-to-go after battling a mild ankle injury this week. Full practice Friday tells us this was nothing more than a grade I injury where there is little to no loss of stability; therefore, his speed and change of direction won't be impacted. Receivers average a 10% dip in fantasy points after an ankle injury, but I do not expect this to apply to Odunze. He remains a high upside WR1 this week.

Xavier Worthy
Injury: Ankle injury
Analysis: A quick ankle injury scare on Thursday, removed from the injury report on Friday. Similar to Odunze's above, Worthy's ankle injury appears to be nothing to worry about, and the analysis is not much different. I would not expect a mild ankle injury to impact Worthy's elite speed and change of direction. Worthy remains a WR3/flex play.
Khalil Shakir
Injury: Rib / Ankle Injury
Analysis: Just like the two players above, Shakir is also cleared to play after a mild ankle injury. Shakir also had a rib injury, which does not appear to be limiting him in week 11 either. When more significant both of these injuries can be a factor on fantasy production, with receivers averaging a 10% dip after an ankle injury and a 16% dip in fantasy points after a rib injury. However, in Shakir's case, his full practice on Friday makes it unlikely he sees the same ill effects. With teammate Dalton Kincaid ruled out, Shakir could be called upon more than usual.
Josh Palmer
Injury: High ankle sprain
Analysis: Palmer is set to return five weeks after a high ankle sprain and knee injury. Receivers average missing 2.8 games, indicating Palmer's injury was fairly severe (which it did look). While there likely was notable instability in the ankle at the time of injury, five weeks is a lot of time to stabilize the ankle and allow resumption of agility and speed. Receivers average no drop off in fantasy points after a high ankle sprain, so this injury should not limit Palmer much. He has not been great, though, and should not be started.
Darius Slayton
Injury: Hamstring strain
Analysis: After re-injuring his hamstring on Sunday, Slayton finished the game but is still feeling the effects and has been ruled out for week 11. Re-injury risk is always high after a hamstring injury, and with Slayton aggravating it last week, his risk of further injury is even higher than usual whenever he gets back on the field.. Hamstrings are critical for sprinting to get deep down the field, which is what Slayton is known for.
Marvin Mims
Injury: Concussion
Analysis: Mims is in line to return from a concussion in week 11. While the risk for another concussion is elevated, his production should not be impacted.
Rashod Bateman
Injury: High ankle sprain
Analysis: Bateman has been ruled out with a high ankle sprain. Receivers average missing 2.8 games.
Brian Thomas Jr.
Injury: High ankle sprain
Analysis: Thomas is truly questionable after logging three limited practices after missing last week with a high ankle sprain. Videos from practice did not look like Thomas had his full burst or confidence when changing direction on the left foot. While receivers typically average no drop off in fantasy points, I'd expect Thomas to be fairly limited by this if he can play, and recommend holding out of your lineups.
Ricky Pearsall
Injury: PCL injury

Analysis: Pearsall will play this week after injuring his PCL in week four. As I've written numerous times, an acute PCL injury makes it incredibly difficult to quickly and confidently plant and cut off the injured leg. It typically takes 4-6 weeks to rehab, but when stability is restored, players can play well. Pearsall can be trusted this week and will get his quarterback as well.
Quentin Johnston
Injury: Shin
Analysis: Johnston has been limited all week but has a good chance to play through a shin injury. Shin injuries generally feel fine when the athlete gets going, but hurt a lot at the beginning of warming up and after concluding activity. Understanding this, we can conclude that Johnston's fantasy output should not be impacted by his injury as long as he can play.
Parker Washington
Injury: Hamstring strain
Analysis: Washington has been removed from the injury report and will play with a mild hamstring injury. This time frame tells us it is no worse than a grade I injury, where there is little to no loss of strength, so Washington should be able to play well. Re-injury risk is heightened, however.
Matthew Golden
Injury: Shoulder injury
Analysis: Goldwn was unable to log any full practices this week but was limited in all of them. The rookie's shoulder injury is still present to some degree. If Golden is able to suit up, I suspect he will be limited in snaps, but per-play production should be there. He has not been reliable yet this season and is best left on the bench.
Tory Horton
Injury: Groin injury / Shin injury
Analysis: Horton has been ruled out again with a groin and shin injury. Two weeks is longer than usual for a groin injury, and we also have the shin to consider here. Hopefully, we get him back next week.
Tight Ends

Sam LaPorta
Injury: Back injury
Analysis: After logging a season low 76% of snaps last week, LaPorta has been dealing with a nagging back injury and has been ruled out for Sunday's prime time matchup against the Eagles. Rarely will a team give us actual information on what the back injury is, but in the absence of a fracture or disc injury, generally, they are not long-term issues. Let's hope we see LaPorta back next week.
Dalton Kincaid
Injury: Hamstring strain
Analysis: Kincaid will miss week 11 with a hamstring injury. The Bills' standout tight end did not practice all week, indicating he was never close to playing. Tight ends average missing two games with a hamstring injury and see a 10% decline in fantasy production in the first game back from injury. Kincaid has been great this season, and a 10% dip won't be enough to keep him out of lineups when he gets healthy.
Dalton Schultz
Injury: Shoulder injury
Analysis: Schultz will play through a mild shoulder injury that he has been dealing with since week 7. He has had some good games here and there but is largely touchdown dependent. This injury should not stop his ability to catch a touchdown, but he is tough to want to start.
Oronde Gadsden
Injury: Quad contusion
Analysis: A quad contusion is pretty easy to get under control for a 22-year-old. After the bruising subsides there is little to no functional impact and Gadsden should have no problems secondary to this injury in week 11.
Brenton Strange
Injury: Quad / Hip ligament injury
Analysis: Strange will miss more time with a quad injury and hip ligament injury. We will look out for his status next week.
