Week 13 delivered another chaotic slate of injuries, with several key fantasy contributors going down and others gutting through significant limitations that will impact playoff-bound rosters. From Justin Herbert undergoing surgery on his fractured left hand to Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kyren Williams injuring their ankles, we've got a packed list of offensive playmakers whose health status could determine fantasy playoff seeding. With only one week left before the fantasy postseason in many formats, understanding how these injuries affect performance, risk of re-injury, and expected timelines is critical. Below is the Week 13 injury recap and what fantasy managers need to know heading into Week 14.
Quarterbacks
Justin Herbert
Injury: Left hand fracture
Analysis: Herbert played through a fracture to one of the metacarpal bones in his left hand on Sunday. I was suspicious of a fracture right away when we got a shot of Herbert heading into the locker room, just minutes after the injury occurred, and the backside of his hand was already extremely swollen. Herbert underwent surgery on Monday and has a real shot at playing this upcoming Monday night against Philadelphia. With this being Herbert's left hand, it's not going to affect his throwing at all. The challenge will be whether or not he can regain enough dexterity within the hand to help hold the ball while in the pocket, and fumbles are a real concern. It is extremely unlikely Los Angeles will put Herbert under center at all, and will likely utilize the pistol and shotgun, similar to Pittsburgh with Aaron Rodgers last week. If Herbert is able to play, his fantasy outlook is largely unchanged from this injury.

Running Backs

Kyren Williams
Injury: Ankle injury
Analysis: Williams banged up his ankle on Sunday but was able to finish out the game, logging 67% of snaps and running for 72 yards and a touchdown. On Monday, Williams reported feeling pretty good, and at present, his week 14 status does not appear in jeopardy. Ankle injuries often feel worse the following day as swelling sets in, so the fact that he was feeling good on Monday is positive. I would not be surprised if he misses time in practice early this week, and it will be important to keep a close eye on his status. Running backs average just a 7% dip in fantasy points after an ankle injury, so Williams should remain a valuable starter.
Aaron Jones
Injury: Left AC joint sprain
Analysis: Jones landed directly on his left shoulder and was in agonizing pain, eventually getting up and walking off the field, but would not return. This mechanism is almost always an AC joint injury. Jones is considered day-to-day, telling us this is either a grade I or II injury that will be treated conservatively. Running backs average missing 2.5 games; however, Jones himself has already dealt with an AC joint injury earlier this season and missed no time. Running backs also average a 19% dip in fantasy points in the first game after an AC joint sprain, meaning fantasy managers will want to look at their alternatives when Jones returns.
Tyrone Tracy
Injury: Left hip injury
Analysis: Tracy exited Monday night's game with a hip injury. Tracy was unable to put much weight on his left hip and ultimately was carted to the locker room. As of this writing, we do not have any details. The cart often indicates a more severe injury, but in some instances, players get away with just a mild injury. We will look out for updates throughout the week.
Terrell Jennings
Injury: Concussion
Analysis: Jennings exited Monday's game with a concussion. He will have to pass through the NFL's concussion protocol.
Woody Marks
Injury: Left foot sprain
Analysis: Marks was the victim of a brutal hip-drop tackle that took him out of the game for a brief period of time. The tackle led to a midfoot injury, but fortunately not severe enough to force him to miss the rest of the game. His ability to play, and play well, tells us that no fracture occurred, and he is likely dealing with a low-grade sprain. It will be interesting to see how he feels and looks during practice this week, as these injuries sometimes get worse the next day. With non-surgical midfoot injuries, running backs average missing two games and see a marginal impact on their fantasy output.

Dylan Sampson
Injury: Calf injury
Analysis: Sampson is day-to-day with a calf strain. The calf muscles are critical for a running back's ability to accelerate and reach top speeds. The calf muscles are one of the most commonly re-injured muscles, with around 15-20% re-injuring. Running backs average missing 1.7 games but see no drop-off in fantasy production upon return.
Wide Receivers

Amon-Ra St. Brown
Injury: Ankle injury
Analysis: St. Brown went down early on Thanksgiving after his right ankle was rolled up on from the back and inside. This led to a lateral (low) ankle sprain, where the ligaments on the outside of the ankle are injured. This is a far better situation when compared to a high ankle sprain, but it still kept St. Brown out for nearly the entirety of Thanksgiving. Receivers average missing less than one game with a lateral sprain; however, the Lions play on Thursday night, which will make it very difficult to get the swelling down and stability regained to the point where he can quickly plant and change directions. I would anticipate him missing one game but returning in week 15 and looking good. Receivers average just a 10% dip in fantasy points after a lateral sprain.
Marvin Harrison Jr.
Injury: Heel injury
Analysis: Harrison injured his heel on Sunday, and his week 14 status is questionable. Heel injuries like this are usually a bruise, and as bruising subsides, pain goes away, and function is restored. The challenge is the difficulty of offloading the heel, as the body strikes the ground first with the heel during every step. These are rarely long-term injuries, and players usually miss one game at most and can play well upon return. Look out for practice reports this week.
Davante Adams
Injury: Hamstring strain
Analysis: Adams has some soreness in his hamstring, but it is not being described as a true injury. As of now, this is of little concern; we will monitor how he looks in practice. Adams is no stranger to hamstring injuries.
Parker Washington
Injury: Hip injury
Analysis: Washington exited Sunday's game with a hip injury. As of this writing, there are no updates. Receivers average missing one game and see no decline in fantasy production upon return.
Jack Bech
Injury: Chest injury
Analysis: Bech appeared to injure his chest on Sunday. Receivers average missing less than one game and see a 17% dip in fantasy points upon return. Bech is not yet fantasy-relevant.
Tight Ends
No tight ends listed this week.
